My name is Jessica Dame. My husband, myself and our 3 kids live in Morocco. I am spending my days learning a new language and caring for our newest little one while our other 2 are in school in French and Arabic. When they get home our house gets kind of crazy but we like it that way. We love to have people into our home to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee. Our home is a mix of furnishings provided for us from our landlord and things we have purchased here. Lots of our decor comes from other countries we have lived in or visited. We love to experience culture and even bring it back home with us if we can. Welcome to our home. Connect with me:     Instagram

This wall had existing holes in it. I tried to work with 2 of them and arrange pictures with command hooks to make something work to make it feel more like home for me. Since we are renting and probably won’t be in this apartment more than another year I didn't want to put holes in the wall. Command hooks have been something I have used for a long time now.

Our son Judah is 5 months old. He is in the room with us still. That pack n play has been all of my kids beds until they were about 3. This will most likely be the case with Judah too. It can get cramped in that corner but it works for now. We got the IKEA chair on clearance and for a good deal. I don't usually go for light pink but since it was so cheap we got it and hope to cover it at some point.

We don't have a tub. This almost was a deal breaker on this apartment. I love baths and so do my kids. We ended up buying a big dish washing tub and it's perfect for my kids. The white cabinet is actually from the kitchen. It was on one of the walls and just looked weird so we took it down, flipped it upside down, and stuck it in the bathroom and it works perfect for bathroom storage.

This couch that came with the apartment was really old and super outdated. I really had no plan for it. I decided to just throw a sheet on it one day and tuck it in. It worked and almost hid it completely. The pillows on the couch are from different places we have visited and loved. The pictures above the couch are of all the places we have visited as a family. I used an expo marker to write on the frame so it wipes off easily, and of course used command hooks to hang them.

Our entry way can get loaded down with shoes, especially when we have people over. This custom is practiced in most cultures around the world but we noticed when we were back in the states for some time that it has become a part of our culture now. We just have to take off our shoes at the door. It makes sense to us and especially our kids.

This is probably my favorite room in the house. I love spending time in here with my kids cooking, or with just friends talking. I really like a clean kitchen so the big 2 door closet is helpful for organizing all our dishes and dry goods. I also like to have fruit and veggies at kid level so they can grab those when they need a snack.

My daughter and son share a room. They both have camel sheets and I try to use the same colors in each side of the room. We also have a little reading space for them that we use each night to read books before bed. This also doubles as extra beds for guests because it is 2 mattresses.

This room gets a lot of love. Our kids and their friends are in here all day. Toys are usually all over the room. Language study and computer things are done at the little desk in the corner. Home school doesn't happen as much since our kids are in local school but we still do some things a few times a week. The most recent purchase was the floor carpet pillows. We love them and it gives a more comfortable feel to the room.

Our living room and dining room are all connected so it has an open feel. The plates on the wall are arranged with pre existing nails and some command hooks. One command hook gave up and a plate broke right before I got the picture. I love command hooks, but they don't hold a lot of weight!

We would love if you shared us!  Here's a pin.
