I'm Abby, a wife, mom, and lover of learning. After growing up in good ole' Carolina, my work as a dancer and arts educator brought me to Seattle for seven years, and then on to live in Afghanistan, South Korea, and now Nepal. My little family has actually only been in Nepal for about 3 weeks now, so settling in to our new home is a current state of being! I love connecting through culture, food, and the arts. I believe in creativity and the game-changer that quality education and intentional mentorship can be. Connect with me:     BlogInstagramFacebook

First in my heart, and in my photos, here's my hubs on the steps leading up to our house.

Welcoming you into our home is this wonderful peacock on the wall. We've adorned her with a wreath. Peacocks are built into many homes here as they are significant in Hindu mythology.

As you turn the corner, you'll head into our living room. We absolutely love these archways!

We live with a tiny human and much of our decor is evidence of it.

This is one of my favorite corners in our house. This little fireplace is built into the wall and it is currently housing 3 pieces of blue glassware that have traveled with me since my time in Afghanistan. Packing those 50 lb bags can be a lesson in minimalism, but we always try to bring a few precious pieces that make any place feel like home right away. The wreath is from a moving sale here in Nepal a few days ago. :)

This amazing table came with our house and we are not mad about it.

As we head upstairs, you'll see our little hobbit bathroom. No shower curtains here in Asia...

This is where things get real. Our bedroom is just...yeah. Not done at all. It's a process people.

This photo is so Asia to me. The rug, the chappals (sandals), the plush thick blanket.

And out to our balcony, where all clothes are hung on laundry days.

What a view here looks like. We are grateful for ANY outdoor space we can get, especially with a toddler!

Realizing now that I forgot my favorite room downstairs...the kitchen! It is small but mighty.

I have a thing for the colors in here. And for jars on shelves.

This is really what home looks like most of the time. We are learning slowly but surely that a house does not make a home... but we can bring home wherever we go as we fill that space with memories, people, and messes.
